The prequels
The world thought they had seen the end of Star Wars but George Lucas had something new up his sleeves. The year was 1999 and speculation of a 4th star wars film was put away when Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace came out. This left many people confused due to 3 movies already coming out but Lucas made it clear that he would be making 3 more movies that were prequels to the original trilogy. Lucas had these movies planned out in 1981 with Lawrence Kasdan and hoped they would someday become a reality. When Technology was finally advancing George knew he had to make it happen. Phantom Menace is the highest grossing star wars movie of all time mainly because of the long wait fans had for it and the high anticipation, its possibly one of the least Favorited by fans due to all the CGI animation and of course Jar jar.The next 2 movies to come out were definitely hits but something wasn't hitting the fans like it used to back in the 70's and 80's. Action scenes were a big part of the positives and the light sabers but all the special CGI effects Lucas put into the movie were annoying didn't capture that real feel like the falcon and x wings did. The one thing that kept the real star wars feel for fans was the music which was done by the classic and all wonderful composer John Williams who has been with the Films since the beginning . The Prequel cast consisted of Ewan Mcrgregor as a young obi wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen as a young Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader), and Natalie Portman as Padme Amidala. Other people that were casted in the movies were Samuel L jackson as Mace windu, Liam Neeson as Qui Gon Jin, and of course Frank Oz reprising his role as the new battle ready Master Yoda.
Fun Fact: C3-PO and R2-D2 are the only 2 characters that appear in every single star wars film and Anthony Daniels reprises his role in each movie as the golden droid.
